VOLUNTEER You are invited to come along with us for any of the events we have on the schedule. Simply let us know that you are interested and then show up. You do not have to be experienced in working with the homeless in order to participate. You also do not have to be religious in any way either. It has been encouraging to see different local businesses, individuals, and churches get involved in what we are doing. You may want to come out for a particular weekend night when we go on an outing or maybe your office would like to help pull off the annual Turkey in the Park event (holiday meal in the park). Or maybe as a way to get a glimpse of greater meaning for Christmas, you'd like to help us with a Christmas morning event. Or maybe you have a great idea to share and then we'll all end up doing that. Children also come out with us, which we encourage, so we make sure to all watch out for them and teach them how to wisely interact with homeless folks. |

For your senior project (or any project you need to do), you are invited to consider the possibility of working with Socks & Gloves over the course of your Senior year through various projects and ideas that you implement along side of us. This will be something that not only you remember, but a project that could dramatically impact the lives of many people. Please contact anyone from the contact page to share ideas you might have as well as brainstorm possibilities for projects. |

Let us know if you have any questions or ideas about getting involved. See our contact page in order to phone, email, or write us. We look forward to seeing people actualize their dreams for caring for the homeless by finding simple ways to get involved. We find that often times people want to help, but it is just a matter of not knowing where to start. Socks & Gloves or a number of homeless outreach organizations in our area may be a great place to begin. Just think of the difference you are going to make in people's lives. |
